ADOPTED !!! Mama Marlee

10/7/2019

Mama Marlee made it to San Diego where she is getting the chemotherapy she couldn’t get in Mexico. With the care and medication made available to her from Dr. Brad Steele at Torrey Pines Animal Hospital, she is making a speedy recovery. We have learned from her new foster mom that she would be happiest in a home without other dogs. And that she needs a high secure fence, at least initially, until she gets settled in to her new home. She spent the early years of her life on the street fighting to survive and to provide enough nourishment for her puppies. That has carried over into her not wanting to share what she has now. She loves her people so much, she would rather not share them with another dog. She appreciates her meals and treats soooo much, she would rather not share those either. Do you blame her?! If you understand what this sweet girl has been through you will fall in love with her and she will return the loyalty and love 10 times over.

Whiskey

(Previously known as “Mars”)

Whiskey is learning lots of new things like playing with his dog friends and sharing his toys. He knows “sit”, and “wait” and is learning patience at the front door when it is time to go for a walk. He has also decided that cats are too enticing to leave alone, so he would do best in a home without cats, unless you have a Boss Cat that knows how to handle dogs.

(previously known as “Mars”)

This little prince is living the good life in San Diego with his foster family while he waits for his furever family to find him. Many people lent a hand to get him where he is today. We think he was born around June 1st, 2019. Surfers For Strays rescued him from the Cachorros Hotsprings area with his sister Mar, (who has since been adopted and is also living in San Diego). The puppies got escorted on a plane and came to LA , California, where Mars got to hang out for a while with his foster dad Chase. Then Mars hitched a ride to Newport Beach, then San Diego.

Mars

He keeps his foster mom company while she works on the computer. He is learning to “sit” and is mostly potty-trained already. He has an older foster sister who is not sure about all the attention this little dude is getting, but he thinks she is the greatest. He is smart, and cuddly and growing up to be so handsome!

If you are interested in adopting Mars, take the first step by filling out an application to adopt from the link below. If you can contribute to the Surfers For Strays medical funds, it will help pay for Mars to get neutered before he gets adopted. Thank you! And Mucho Aloha!
